Turning ambition into lasting results

Born from a presidential vision to put innovation at the center of national development, the Algerian Startup Fund (ASF) was initiated by the President of the Republic, H.E. Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Publicly announced at the first Algeria Disrupt in 2020, the fund embodies a strong commitment: equipping Algeria with a modern venture financing vehicle to back its talent, accelerate economic transformation, and create value nationwide.

By 2021, ASF had set up its instruments and launched its first investments in support of labeled startups, adopting tools tailored to innovation risk (equity and quasi-equity). Established in partnership with six public banks, the fund acts as a catalyst: it professionalizes assessment (product, market, business model, governance), speeds up investment decisions and delivers measurable post-investment support (hands-on guidance, partner network access, export readiness and scaling support).

To bring capital closer to founders across all 58 wilayas, ASF has rolled out regional mechanisms with dedicated envelopes, with tickets of up to DZD 150 million per project depending on needs and maturity. This territorial architecture increases investment reach, fosters skilled job creation, and helps cultivate national champions in strategic sectors (Industry 4.0, health, agri-tech, fintech, education, green-tech, and more).

Today, guided by the presidential vision and aligned with public policies for startup labeling and entrepreneurial support, ASF continues to strengthen a robust, diversified, knowledge-driven ecosystem.
